Opened in July 2019 the walking and cycling route, beginning at New Malden train station and finishing at Raynes Park Recreation and Sports Ground, was officially named 'Beeline Way' after being chosen by a public vote and the alternative proposed names were rejected.

The Beeline Way has proved immensely popular with walkers and cyclists wanting to escape the hubbub of traffic around Raynes Park and New Malden.

The route is also lit by LED lighting during the night.

Beeline Way is a natural space connecting the areas of New Malden and Raynes Park. Before the route was created, it was a closed area of land belonging to Thames Water, it is now a pedestrian walkway and cycle route housing a historic cattle bridge. Other features include a children's play area, an area of protected ancient woodland and views across Malden Golf Club and the ancient Beverley Brook.

Friends of Beeline Way are a small and dedicated group of volunteers formed from local environmental and community groups, come together to plant and maintain flowers, trees and shrubs in the Beeline Way, and to support the important ecosystem - Beeline Way is a dedicated Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and supports a wide range of local wildlife.
